Advertising signs

All advertisements and signage require permission.

Attaching advertising signs to traffic sign posts is prohibited and may endanger traffic safety. The police or the city may remove unauthorized signs.

Businesses must apply for a permit for advertisements. The city will advise on their proper placement and ensure that they are placed legally on our street space.

Ad size and layout:

• The advertisement must not contain the content, symbols or colour scheme of road signs in accordance with the Road Traffic Decree, or resemble the shapes used in road signs.
• The advertisement must not be dazzling and must not contain reflective material or surfaces.
• Advertisements/signs must be of such a size that they do not cause visual obstructions to traffic or otherwise impair pedestrian traffic or alter traffic safety.

Permits are granted for both short-term and long-term use.

The city moves advertising signs to their own poles

This year we have received special funding for traffic signs. We have decided to use the funding to promote entrepreneur-friendliness. We are moving company advertising signs to their own separate pipes. The aim is to improve both traffic safety and the visibility of companies. At the same time, we will ensure that the advertisements meet the requirements of the law and do not pose a risk to traffic. Advertising signs that do not meet the size or appearance requirements cannot be moved to the new pipes. 

We also ask businesses to report outdated signs that can be removed.

New branded business district signs are coming to business districts.
