Effect of the procedure

In the assessment of climate impacts, it is especially necessary to find out how the implementation of the planning area and especially the utilization of waste heat affects the greenhouse gas emissions of the Imatra area and how much the solution improves the municipality's chances of achieving the climate goals for 2030.

Situation in December 2021:

The climate impact assessment of Imatra's new master plan 2040 is under work and progressing. 1106 The zoning of the Ritikankoski residential area has started and an assessment of the climate effects will be made. The draft phase of the plan is in early 2022 and the proposal phase in March 2022.1121 The Lempukka-Hosseinlahti site plan work has not yet started. 1107 Imatrankoski site plan change, 1108 Imatrankoski entrance environment site plan change, and 1109 Vuoksenniska site plan update will be prepared climate impact assessments. The formula processes are in the preparation phase.

Situation in May 2021:

A climate impact assessment is being prepared for Imatra's new general plan 2040 "Greater Imatra".

The climate impact assessment will also be prepared for the 1106 Ritikankoski residential area site plan and site plan changes, as well as the 1121 Lempukka-Hosseinlahti site plan, which are in the initial phase. Even in smaller site plan changes, conditions are created for low-emission solutions, and based on the goals of sustainable development, e.g. the plan's effects on the natural environment and the traffic effects of the plan.

Situation in May 2022:

The climate impact assessment of Imatra's new master plan 2040 has been completed.

1106 The zoning of the Ritikankoski residential area has started and an assessment of the climate effects will be made. The plan is in the preparation phase, the plan draft is planned to be visible in May-June 2022.

1121 Lempukka-Hosseinlahti site plan work will not be started and will not be added to the 2022–2024 planning program.
