The trial began at the beginning of September at three Hyödyksi stations (Kukkuroinmä-ki, Toikansuo and Harakka), a two-month trial of receiving waste textiles.
During the trial period, we take at stations free of charge in exchange for removal textiles. The textiles are delivered for pre-sorting to Virra in Saimaa in Imatra and from there on to Paimio to the processing plant of Southwest Finland's Jätehuolto.
Waste textiles are clothes or home textiles that are no longer suitable for reuse as such, but they can be mechanically recycled. These include, for example, broken, worn and faded clothes. Terribly dirty clothes are not even suitable for disposal, they still belong in dry waste.
