Teaching focused on working life  

In education focused on working life, there is more exposure to working life than in other basic education. At Imatra, education focused on working life is the flexible basic education JOPO and the basic education focused on working life TEPPO.  

Flexible basic education, or JOPO  

JOPO is a small group activity where learning on the job is an important part of studying. It is intended for young people in the 7th-9th grades, for whom functional and work-oriented studying can prevent a weakening of school motivation and dropping out of school.  

The goal is to develop life management skills and study skills and to support the completion of primary school. In addition, with the help of individual support, transition to secondary education is promoted and securing a postgraduate study place is ensured. The applicant must have at least one year of elementary school left.

Basic education focused on working life, or TEPPO 

In the basic education focused on working life at TEPPO, the student studies working life skills both at school and during working life periods at workplaces.
