The purpose is to strengthen the cooperation of those sitting at the board's table as well.

Imatra's city government, council chairpersons and senior management will travel next Monday for a meeting and familiarization trip. The two-day trip goes to Hamina and Porvoo.

─ Our purpose is to seek lessons and ideas both for vitality work and for how we could attract new residents to Imatra. It is also important to strengthen the joint actions of trustees and office holders sitting at the table of the city board, the chairman of the city board Ilkka Nokelainen says.

On Monday, the city government will get to know Hamina's group companies, among other things, and discuss cooperation between the cities. After that, the board heads to Porvoo, where the actual town board meeting will be held. On the agenda of the meeting are, among other things, the location of the new sports hall and acting managing the duties of the mayor during the transition phase. The people of Imatra will be the guests of the city of Porvoo on Tuesday morning.

The instructions for the corona period have been taken into account in the preparation of the trip. From April, work and study trips to the city of Imatra are allowed with discretionary rest.

Some external visitor groups are also received at the schools during the spring. A wider open day for city residents will be organized in school centers on April 7.4.
