The Imatra city library organizes a discussion session under the title "Osbu – the budget together".

Participatory budgeting (osbu) is an operating method in which the municipality's residents are included in the discussion, planning and decision-making regarding common tax resources. The townspeople could decide for themselves for what purpose a certain part of the money of the city of Imatra is used.

In addition to the library, the participation coordinator is also involved in organizing the discussion event Heikki Laine.

- The purpose is to discuss what participatory budgeting is all about and how it could be applied at Imatra. The results of the discussion will be used in the development of participatory budgeting in the city of Imatra. At the same time, we will discuss what kind of influence we all have on the operation of our own city, Laine says.

The event will be attended by townspeople, city representatives and trustees.

- The goal is to present different points of view, not consensus or concrete solutions. All you need to participate is an open and curious mind, says the library expert piloting the library's democracy project Ari Sareslahti.

The discussion will be held on Thursday, April 20.4.2023, 16.30, from 18.30:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. in the Living Room of Imatra's main library. The discussion will take place without an audience, and places are limited. If you want to participate in the discussion, contact Ari Sareslahti.
