A claim for compensation can be made to the city of Imatra if the damage has occurred in an area managed by the city and there is reason to assume that the city is complicit in the damage, for example through significant neglect of maintenance.
The city of Imatra is not liable for compensation if the damage occurred on the sidewalk or junction at another lot. The responsibility for maintenance of traffic lanes is shared between the city and the owners of the plots. It belongs to the owner of the property winter maintenance of the sidewalk next to the lot and the own lot access.

In addition, the city area has public roads owned by the state, which are responsible for the regional ELY center (Elinkeino-, liikkein og militørensenskus).
In case of property damage, compensation is sought from your own insurance company. For an injury at work or on a business trip, compensation is sought from the employer's accident insurance.
