The Climate Diet calculator developed by the Finnish Environment Agency (SYKE) helps identify where the everyday carbon footprint comes from and how it can be reduced.
With the climate diet calculator, you can calculate the carbon footprint created by housing, traffic, food, waste and other consumption over the course of one year. The calculator helps to identify where everyday emissions come from and gives selected tips based on your own answers on how you can reduce your carbon footprint with concrete, small and large actions.
With the help of the calculator, you can find out your own carbon footprint accurately based on your own data or, alternatively, quickly with the help of default values. These default values are based on background information provided by the user. You can save your own calculation results on a website that allows you to monitor your own emission trends. You can also compare your carbon footprint with the consumption of the average Finn or with the results of the different groups of respondents who filled out the meter. Climate diet won the 2019 Public Sector Leaders Digitization Award.
