Imatra has distinctive and uniform areas of front-line men's houses built in the 1940s and 1950s,
where a typical residential building is a 1½-story clapboard or plastered detached house. Houses
has been changed and repaired over time with extensions and cladding that are not suitable for buildings.
We wanted to make changes in accordance with our own preferences and prevailing fashion trends.
Façade changes have been found to be unsustainable in time and often from the point of view of the new owner
inconvenient.
The lifespan of facade changes is several decades, owners change and fashion trends change
are changing. Preserving the original appearance of front-line houses' facades takes time
foundation for buildings.
The zoning of Imatra's technical work has been prepared in cooperation with building control
construction method instructions for front-line officers to complement site plan regulations. Environmental and
the building control board has approved the instruction on 11.11.2008. The instructions are suitable for use
for all detached houses built in the 1940s-1950s.
