Situation in December 2021:
Rajapatsa's flue gas scrubber was commissioned in January 2021. Thanks to the scrubber, the facility's efficiency has improved and fuel consumption has decreased by approximately 30 truckloads per year. District heat production at Imatra is already CO2-free, so the scrubber does not directly reduce CO2 emissions.
Situation in May 2021:
At the end of 2020, a new flue gas scrubber was built for the Rajapatsa biothermal center, the actual commissioning of which was carried out at the beginning of January 2021. The scrubber increases heat production capacity, saves fuel and reduces fuel procurement costs, as well as further reduces particulate emissions from the plant's flue gas. Thanks to the scrubber, the plant's efficiency has improved and fuel consumption has decreased by approximately 30 truckloads per year.
