CLIBUS Runway to carbon neutrality – Involvement of business communities in climate strategies

Through CLIBUS cooperation, cities and regions can act as a beacon to guide SMEs in energy efficiency and climate action.

To achieve carbon neutrality goals in cities and regions, it is essential to improve the participation of the private sector, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the implementation of local and regional climate strategies.

CLIBUS aims to strengthen the ability of public actors to support business communities and SMEs in implementing energy efficiency and climate measures.

The capabilities of regional actors to develop regional policy are increased by developing expertise in selected themes:

• Building networks to enable collaboration and change
• Public-private cooperation models in supporting energy efficiency in SMEs
• Utilizing ESG reporting data in targeting climate action
• Public services to support energy efficiency measures in SMEs
• The impact of the organization of business parks on the implementation of energy efficiency measures
• SMEs' expertise in energy efficiency measures and reducing greenhouse gas emissions
   

The CLIBUS project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg Europe programme with co-financing from the European Union. The CLIBUS project partners come from Finland, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands and Ukraine. In Finland, the city of Imatra works in close cooperation with the LAB University of Applied Sciences.
