The right to inspect information
A person has the right to know whether his personal data is being processed and what information about him is stored in the register. A person can make an information request to the city of Imatra with an electronic form. The form requires strong identification in the Suomi.fi service.
The city of Imatra will deliver the requested information as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting the information is one month. If it is a very extensive request for information, the deadline is three months. If the city of Imatra does not provide information, a written certificate will be given.
The requested documents can be handed over either electronically or in paper form, or the documents can be consulted on site. The information is basically provided free of charge. If more than one copy is requested, a fee may be charged. If the request for information is obviously unfounded and unreasonable, or if requests for information are made repeatedly, the city of Imatra can charge the administrative costs incurred for providing the information or refuse to provide the information altogether. In such a case, the city of Imatra issues a written certificate on the matter, which shows the apparent groundlessness or unreasonableness of the request.
Right to rectification of data
The person has the right to demand the correction or completion of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information about him and the deletion of unnecessary information without undue delay. A person can submit a correction request to the city of Imatra with an electronic form. The form requires strong identification in the Suomi.fi service.
The city of Imatra will correct the requested information as soon as possible. The deadline for correcting the information is one month. If it is a very extensive request for information, the deadline is three months. If the city of Imatra does not accept the correction request, a written explanation will be given.
The right to limit the processing of their data
In certain situations, a person may have the right to request that the processing of his personal data be restricted until his data has been properly checked and corrected or supplemented.
The right to file a complaint with the authority
A person has the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority if he or she considers that there is a violation in the processing of personal data EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commissioner.
