For example, you can file a crime report at the City Hall remote service point.
You can deal with the police, Kela, the Tax Administration and the Digital and Population Information Service authorities from Imatra Town Hall.
Services are provided by appointment via remote connection. Appointments can be made through the City Hall customer service. Customer service personnel also help with using the service.
You can also come in without an appointment. Your matters will be handled if there are free times available at that time.
Through the remote service, you can, for example, file a criminal report or handle tax-related matters.
It is a good idea for service users to be prepared to prove their identity. For example, filing a crime report requires identification.
Submitting a report requires identification, so the person submitting the report must bring a photo ID.
The experiment is part of the reform of the state service network.
Providing government services remotely is part of a pilot that will be implemented in Imatra, as well as in Porvoo and Nurmes.
The experiment begins today, Monday, and ends at the end of February 2026.
During the trial period, experiences and feedback on the use of the service will be collected. The aim is to determine whether similar remote service points could be used more widely in Finland.
The piloting of the remote service is part of the project "Renewing the State Service and Premises Network in the 2020s", which aims to ensure the accessibility of government services throughout the country. The remote service offers a way to provide a comprehensive range of services even to those localities where the authorities do not have their own personnel.
