A Ukrainian evening will be held at the Imatra town hall on 28.8.2024

The Ukrainians of Imatra are responsible for the program of the event.

In the Ukrainian Evening, Ukraine's Independence Day, which is officially on August 24, is celebrated afterwards.

In the evening, you will hear Ukrainian music, learn about Ukrainian culture in different ways and taste Ukrainian delicacies prepared by Ukrainians living in Imatra.

- We have received a lot from the people of Imatra. By organizing the evening, we want to thank the people of Imatra for the support we received and at the same time tell about our own culture, he says Volodymyr Bekauri, who is one of the organizers of the evening.

The evening starts in the courtyard of the town hall with the raising of the Ukrainian flag at 18.30.

The mayor of Nizhyn, the Ukrainian sister city of Imatra, will be present at the event along with three other guests from Nizhyn. The people of Nizhyn will visit Imatra from August 27 to 29.

All friends of Ukraine and Ukrainians are welcome to the Ukrainian evening.

The city of Imatra donated a decommissioned van to Nizhyn

The Fiat Ducato used by the land surveying unit is currently arriving in Nizhyn. The car is driven by a volunteer from Imatra Joni Salmi. The serviced van was loaded with relief supplies at a collection point in the capital region.
