-The experiment has now ended and the remote service point is closing, Marketing and Tourism Director Jaakko Jäppinen says.
In the future, the agencies' services can be used online and at the nearest offices:
- Kela Kela Imatra service point - Kela - Suomi.fi
- DVV: Lappeenranta | Digital and Population Information Agency
- Police: Southeast Finland Police Department, offices and services - Police
- Tax Administration: Tax Administration service points - vero.fi
The remote service trial began in Imatra, Porvoo and Nurmes in September 2025. The trial was part of the project Renewing the State Service and Premises Network in the 2020s. The project aims to ensure the accessibility of government services throughout the country.
During the trial, experiences of the remote service point have been collected from customers and authorities. During the trial, 50 customers visited in all three cities, of which 19 in Imatra (situation as of January 21, 2026).
The Ministry of Finance will continue to develop Suomi points and the experiences gained from the experiment will be utilized nationwide to improve the accessibility of services.
