Simeoninkoti and Jukola will be built on the site of the Imatrankoski kindergarten, and Juhonkoti will be built next door.

The Housing Finance and Development Center (ARA) has granted Imatra a conditional grant of 2,79 million euros to improve the housing conditions of special groups.

ARA also granted an interest subsidy loan of 5,185 million euros to build rental apartments.

The conditional grant and loan now granted by ARA is intended for the construction of senior housing on the site of the old Imatrankoski daycare center. The property named Simeoninkodi will have 20 senior apartments and 40 service apartments with round-the-clock care.

- The decision is extremely great. Now we can move forward with the plans and the big projects, i.e. senior apartments, service apartments for the disabled and the day activity center will start, says Mitra Imatra Rakennuttaja's CEO. Lassi Nurmi.

Start also for Juhonkodi and Jukola

Already last summer, ARA admitted that it had granted an investment grant of 1,12 million euros and a state subsidized loan of 1,68 million euros for service apartments for the disabled.

15 special group service apartments are coming to this property named Juhonkodi. Juhonkoti is located at the corner of Esterinkatu and Heikinkatu, where there is currently an empty lot. In recent years, the plot has mainly been a storage place for construction material.

In addition, facilities will be built for the day activity center for the disabled, or Jukola, which will be located on the old site of the day care center together with Simeoninkodi.

To build in the summer

First, work will start on Juhonkoti.

- Planning will start immediately for Juhonkodi and Jukola. The plan is to start construction during next summer if the preliminary schedule is fulfilled, Mitra's developer Henry Tapiola says.

The work for the three construction projects will be done in stages.

The construction of Jukola will start next fall. The activities of the Day Activities Center will move directly from the old property on the same plot to the new one. The daycare property will only be demolished after that.

Construction work on the Simeoninkodi, or senior apartments, will tentatively begin in the summer of 2024.

In cooperation with the welfare area

The properties are being built by Mitra Imatra Rakennuttaja Oy. The apartments are rented and owned by Imatra Vuokra-asunnot Oy.

A welfare area will function as a provider of care services in both Jukola and Simeoninkodi.

Cooperation on further planning with the welfare area starts immediately.
