The new city hall will open in Imatrankoski at the end of November.
The staff and services of Imatra City Hall will move to Koskenlinkki in Imatrankoski in November.
The moving of furniture from the old house to the new house will begin in mid-November.
The workstations will be moved to the new building gradually, with the furniture on the top floor of the new building being moved first. The customer service department, located on the bottom floor, will be the last to move.
—The goal is for customer service to open in the new premises on Monday, November 24, Facilities Management Manager Petri Nuutinen says.
Services will operate normally at the old city hall during the move, except for Thursday, November 20.11 and Friday, November 21.11, when customer service will move. Customer service will be closed on those two moving days.
More information about the opening of the town hall will be announced during November.
Services remain unchanged
The new premises of the City Hall are located in Koskenlinki at the intersection of Heikinkatu and Tainionkoskentie, at Tainionkoskentie 14.
About 120 employees will move in with the city hall. The space is approximately 1500 square meters on four floors.
There is significantly less square footage than in the current premises. This means that not all city employees will have their own, designated workstation in the future.
—Some of the employees have a fixed workstation at the new city hall. Some of us will work partly remotely and partly on site in the future. For mobile employees, the new premises have plenty of so-called hybrid workstations, which employees can reserve in advance through an electronic booking system, Nuutinen says.
The services offered to city residents will not change. The contact information for city employees, such as phone numbers, will also remain the same.
Main entrance at the intersection of Heikinkatu and Tainionkoskentie
The new city hall has two entrances. The main entrance is located at the intersection of Heikinkatu and Tainionkoski road. The accessible route is in the building's courtyard.
In addition, there is a separate entrance to the building inspection office to the left of the main entrance.
Customer parking spaces are in the courtyard. Access to the courtyard is from the Tainionkoskentie side.
The relocation plan will be finalized during the autumn and changes to the schedules are possible.
—Of course, we hope that everything goes as planned, but all kinds of delays can always happen, Nuutinen says.
The old city hall will remain in use by the city for the time being, and for example, council meetings will be held in the current council hall even after the move.

Hello Tina
The Cultural Center in Virta is about to undergo renovation in the coming years. The Cultural Center's operations will be transferred to the current City Hall during the renovation. After that, the City Hall can serve, for example, as a Wilderness and Nature Culture Museum or other similar use.
