Updated: The Ensilumenlatu ice rink has reopened.

All sections of the track are open as normal.

The Imatra first snow slope ice hall loop has been reopened to skiers. The loop had to be closed last week due to little snow and poor weather conditions, but recent conditions and maintenance measures have made it possible to reopen.

– The ice rink loop has been patched and renovated so that it can be reopened safely to skiers. However, the situation is being monitored continuously, says the sports facility manager. Jani Niittynen.

All sections of the first snow track are now in use, and the tracks are regularly maintained according to weather conditions. The maintenance of the tracks also takes into account the European Youth Biathlon Championships to be held in Imatra in January, so that the tracks remain in good condition during the event.

– We hope that the weather conditions will remain favorable so that the tracks can be kept open for as long as possible, says Niittynen.
