The city of Imatra awarded successful athletes in 2025
The City of Imatra annually awards nationally or internationally successful athletes. A total of 31 athletes representing 15 different clubs were awarded as successful athletes of 2025.
The Municipality's Power to Old Age working group also awarded the Deed of the Year honorable mention at the event. The mention was awarded Liisa-Helena Pellinen for meritorious work for the movement and health of older people.
– The athletes and clubs awarded today also serve as a good example for children and young people in our region, encouraging them to get involved in physical activity, says the Sports and Wellbeing Manager of the City of Imatra Henna Kaijanen.
The awards ceremony was held today, Wednesday, in the winter garden of the old city hall. The awards were presented and the speech was given by the chairman of the Education and Welfare Committee. Kaisa Pohjola. Not all award recipients were able to participate in the event.
Proposals for athletes to be awarded could be sent to the city until January 8.1.2026, XNUMX.
