The move of the city hall to Imatrankoski received approval from the council
The city council approved the move of the city hall to Imatrankoski in their meeting on Monday 10.3.
The new premises for the City Hall are planned to be the Koskenlinki, located at the intersection of Heikinkatu and Tainionkoskentie.
Preliminary floor plans for the location of operations in Koskenlinkki have been made. The plan will be refined further together with the personnel during the spring.
—According to current information, the move could be possible in late autumn, but we cannot yet say the dates. The schedules will be finalized in the coming months, facilities management manager Petri Nuutinen says.
The current town hall would initially serve as a temporary space for the Virta Cultural Center, which is undergoing renovations in the coming years. After the renovations, the building could serve as a Wilderness and Nature Culture Museum, for example.
The move is aimed at revitalizing Imatrankoski and finding cost savings. Financial savings will come from reduced maintenance costs and from not having to arrange separate escape rooms for the cultural center.

Just! All gone!…
Just! All of it, just go away!
Smaller, more modest, soon no one will even know where Imatra is! Imatra hasn't been in any media for years, here in the capital region it's not a name
Appear anywhere! Marketing is completely missing!! If there is weather, travel or other information on TV, the people jump straight to the castle or the mouth of the river!! Imatra is not mentioned
nowhere !! WHY!!! Take the Chinese to spy on their neighbors with a telescope, eat at a lean-to, take pictures, etc....it would be a fabulous opportunity for them. As a former resident of Imatra and a resident of Meltola, I know the places like the back of my hand!
