The application for entrepreneurship vouchers for young people begins on Monday, March 16.2rd.

The City of Imatra and the West Saimaa 4H Association support young people's entrepreneurship with entrepreneurship vouchers. The entrepreneurship voucher allows Imatra residents aged 13–28 to try entrepreneurship safely through the 4H entrepreneurial path. 

In recent years, the city of Imatra has supported youth employment by offering summer work vouchers, job vouchers and Workpilots work gigs to young people in Imatra. The entrepreneurship voucher is a means to complement these. A young person can be granted either a summer work voucher or an entrepreneurship voucher, but not both.

Entrepreneurship vouchers are being issued in Imatra for the third time. 

— In previous summers, young people who received the voucher have gained a lot of experience in entrepreneurship, and some have continued their business activities after the summer. In addition, 4H entrepreneurship earns a lot of study points, says a special youth worker. Mari Tentke says.

There are seven entrepreneurship vouchers being distributed, and the value of each voucher is 350 euros. The value of the voucher will be allocated to the company's start-up costs, 4H membership fees, insurance, and, for example, material costs for business operations.

At the application stage, you must have a preliminary idea of ​​your future business. The voucher is paid in two installments. The first part of the voucher, 200 euros, is paid before the start of the business and the remaining 150 euros is paid after the summer, when the young person has filled out and returned the necessary information about their business to the West Saimaa 4-H Association.

The application for entrepreneurship vouchers is open from 16.2. to 8.3. 2026. 

The application is made using an online form. The form will be published on the city's website on February 16.2th and will be announced separately on the city's and Imatra Ohjaamo's social media channels, as well as in Wilma.

Vouchers are issued based on applications that meet the criteria in order of application.

Young people who have received an entrepreneurship voucher participate in entrepreneurship training organized by the 4H association. In addition, the contact person of the 4H association works to support the young person on the path of entrepreneurship.

The young person receives a work certificate for being an entrepreneur and, in addition, study points, if the educational institution accepts business activity as part of the studies.
This year, entrepreneurship vouchers will also be issued by the northern municipalities of the Imatra region, namely Ruokolahti, Rautjärvi and Parikkala.
