The Ukonniemi and Rauha areas will be marketed as Ukonrau in the future.
The Ukonniemi and Rauha areas will form an entity called Ukonrauha in the future. This is a brand that brings together the region's tourism services under one identity.
—A unified brand makes marketing easier. We are able to offer tourists a clear package that includes diverse accommodation options, many different activity and hobby opportunities, and stunning nature, project manager Katri Hiltunen goSaimaa states.
The Ukonrauha brand is used especially in marketing. The region also has its own website, which can be found here gosaimaa.com/ukonrauha.
In addition, Ukonrauha will soon be visible on site, for example at the Imatra ice rink, the Ukonniemi arena and sports field, as well as in corporate premises.
The brand was created as a result of the Rauha-Ukonniemi – International Resort project led by goSaimaa, and goSaimaa is responsible for coordinating its implementation.
The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday 18.10.
In the future, Ukonrauhaa will be utilized especially in marketing material directed to other parts of Finland and abroad.
However, the area itself is available to all residents of Imatra and the surrounding area.
—Ukonniemi and Rauha are familiar to many people from Imatra. However, I think that not all locals are necessarily aware of all the opportunities the area offers for leisure activities. The opening day offers a great opportunity to learn more about these opportunities, says the Marketing and Tourism Director of the City of Imatra. Jaakko Jäppinen ponders.
The brand will be visible for the first time on Saturday, October 18.10th at the opening event of Ukonrauha.
—During the day, you can go ice skating, try padel, or even go to Haapasaari to take a sauna for free, says Jäppinen.
The day also includes the opening of the first snow track and, among other things, the traditional children's ski competition.
The full opening ceremony program can be found here. from this link.

Ukonniemi will not disappear from the map.
The Ukonniemi peace will not destroy Ukonniemi. Imatra residents still go to Ukonniemi to play sports and exercise, and the area is still home to, for example, the Ukonniemi Arena and the Ukonniemi Stadium.
A common brand is needed for sales and marketing in the region.
—A tourist doesn't care whether they are in Ukonniemi or Rauha, Imatra or Lappeenranta. Instead, they are interested in what we have to offer, and the more we have to offer, the more attractive we are to tourists, says Jäppinen.
Ukonrauha is also for entrepreneurs and other operators in the area.
—The brand brings companies and their services together, helps companies market their operations, and offers the opportunity for further cooperation, Jäppinen states.
