The City of Imatra invites residents to respond to a stormwater survey
The goal of the stormwater program currently being prepared is to develop the city's stormwater management and create a comprehensive strategy for the sustainable treatment of rainwater and meltwater.
Stormwater refers to rainwater and meltwater from built-up areas, which can cause challenges, especially during heavy rains and spring snowmelt.
As part of the program preparation, the city will conduct a resident survey to collect information based on local knowledge about stormwater flooding and other stormwater problems.
In the survey, you can mark observations on the map base of sites where:
- Floods caused by heavy rain or snowmelt. Small ponds after rain are not included in the reportable items.
- Inadequate drainage of stormwater, for example a missing or blocked drain or a blocked ditch
- Erosion or water quality problems, such as litter in ditches or water with an unusual color or odor
The survey has a separate section for property owners.
Answer the survey and make an impact!
— The information provided by residents is valuable, and it will be utilized in the preparation of the stormwater program to determine the special characteristics and development needs of Imatra, says the city's maintenance engineer Kaisa Pohjola.
The survey is open from May 12 to May 31.5.2025, XNUMX. You can respond to it using the link below:
