Snails were collected in Kotka…
In Kotka, 38kg of snails were collected/4h/28 people. Today we collected 30kg of snails in about 4 minutes and 2 collectors. And there was certainly a lot more left uncollected.
In proportion, the people of Kotka would have collected almost 450kg in 4 hours.. It seems that the snails are coming from the power line during the official visit. Could the landowner sow a good batch of iron phosphate there before it's too late?

The Spanish snail problem is quite challenging. The City of Imatra is trying to support the residents in their control efforts as much as possible, and a limited amount of pesticide has been reserved for the residents to sow on the city's land. In other words, we are trying to support the city's efforts to prevent the Spanish snails from spreading to private yards.
There is a limited amount of the product and it is intended and reserved only for the control of alien species, i.e. in practice, for the control of Spanish hornworms on city-owned land. The product dosage instructions must be followed. If you are willing to control Spanish hornworms on city-owned public land, you can contact Jukka Kunnaks regarding the pesticide (jukka.kunnas@imatrankipa.fi).

Yes, this is indeed a bit...
Yes, I really need some help with this. No matter how much I collect from my own plot, it feels hopeless when there are so many city parks and other areas around me that no one collects from. One person (or family) can't handle a very large area, as it's not that nice. They dunk nicely in the trash when they get there.
Who will destroy the city...
Who is doing the clearing in the city areas, e.g. the area around the Virasoja school site and the surrounding bike paths? No city personnel have been seen clearing in rainy weather, when there are dozens on the bike path alone. Keeping the grass, road games, etc. short would also help. Poison for the city's spikes, you could apply it to the areas where it needs to be spread, the city is unlikely to do that.
Hello Sirpa, that's our...
Hello Sirpa
There, on the opposite side of Tainionkoskentie from our plot, is that patch of land where those percula have been spreading in brutal quantities for years. As far as I know, it's city land (at least the city has zoned plots for it). They've tried to poison us there with a couple of bags a year. The city should really step in and poison that area properly. It's starting to feel desperate when the root cause of our area is right there. They can also bring us a bag of poison, so we can do our part, but we can't cope on our own... we take care of our own yard.
