Extending the emptying interval of the dry waste container
If the property is subject to property-based waste transportation and the amount of dry waste generated is small, the emptying interval can be extended.
The emptying interval can be 1, 2, 4 (6 in urban areas), 8 or 12 weeks. These emptying intervals can be agreed directly with Etelä-Karjalan Jätehuolto Oy.
If the amount of waste generated on the property is justifiably exceptionally low, the property can apply to the waste management authority for a derogation permit to extend the emptying interval of the dry waste container to 16 weeks. The decision is made taking into account, among other things, the amount of dry waste generated, the number of residents in the property and waste sorting.
