Remotely readable water meters will be replaced in properties in the Kupari and Rautala residential areas of Rajapatsa.

Meter replacement is free of charge for residents. The installer will personally agree with the property owner on a suitable time for meter replacement.

This year, a thousand remotely readable meters will be replaced, 500 of which will be replaced by the summer. In practice, the meter replacement will be carried out by Imatra Kiinteistö- ja Aluepalvelu Kipa.

— Overall, 6000 properties in Imatra have switched to remotely readable meters and there are still 1700 properties that have not had their meters replaced, says the network manager. Kari Mäkelä from Imatran Vesi.

After the meter is replaced, the customer no longer needs to report water consumption readings to the water utility except in exceptional cases, such as when moving house. Water bills for remotely readable water meters are based on actual consumption.
