Operations will continue in the current premises until spring 2027.

The project planning for the renovation of the Virta Cultural Center has progressed on schedule.

The starting point for the design is the renovation of the current property, which was put into use in 1986. In practice, all the rooms in the building will be renovated.

The current building will be in operation until spring 2027.

—The relocation of operations to the old city hall, which is serving as a temporary facility, will begin after the Virta-opisto spring semester has concluded in a year, facilities management manager Petri Nuutinen says.

Project planning has been carried out over the winter in collaboration with the building's users. The goal is to submit the plan to the city council before next autumn.

After the council's consideration, construction planning will begin. The decision to begin the renovation is planned to be made in spring 2027.
