New surface for streets renovated last year in Meltola

Last year, the Meltola area renovation included the renewal of street structures and water and sewerage systems. Next is the asphalting of the streets.
First, the streets will be graded in week 20, and in week 21, the streets will receive new asphalt. 

The streets to be graded and asphalted are:
• Shop Street
• Cart alley
• Rainionkuja
• Aisakuja
• Horse River Road
• the area's pedestrian routes renovated in 2025

Weather permitting, the asphalting will be completed during week 21. In the event of heavier rain, the schedule may be extended.

— Valjaskatu and Kulkuskatu will not be asphalted yet in this context, because they serve as bypass roads for the ongoing regional renovation. They will be asphalted in late summer, as soon as the heaviest construction site traffic on these streets stops, says the regional supervisor Konsta Toikka From Mitra.
