Napikulma Square is being completed

The construction site fences around the area will be removed no later than Wednesday, July 2.7nd. There will still be some finishing work to be done until the end of the summer and into the fall.

The asphalting of the area was completed on Thursday, June 26.6th.

— The asphalted walkways will receive a colored sprinkle coating in mid-July, says the city engineer Väinö Juvakka.

The Planting Basins built in the square will be temporarily filled with flower pots, and the actual planting will be done next spring in conjunction with the installation of other furniture.

The new toilet facilities in the square will not yet be available for summer events.

— In August, a ramp will be installed in the toilet containers for barrier-free access. The containers will be equipped with door locks that can be opened by phone. This will allow for better monitoring of use and prevention of vandalism, says Henry Tapiola From Mitra.

This summer, event organizers will be bringing beach huts to the square. Public toilets can be found in Nepparinaukio.

A mural competition is currently underway in Napinkulma, which ends on July 31.7. The winning work is scheduled to be completed in September on the square, on the end wall of the Koskenparras 4 property.

For the first time, Napikulma Square is hosting On Imatra day 23.8., where public coffee and a greeting from the city will be served. The music will be provided by the Imatra Wind Orchestra.
