Meltola area renovation will continue next week

The Meltola area renovation will continue after the winter break. The first step will be to renew the structural layers and lighting of the light traffic route between Kärrykuja and Hevossuontie. 

The work will begin with preparatory work on Friday, March 7.3. Excavation work will begin the following week at the end of Kärrykuja, so that pedestrians will initially be able to move through Rainionkuja.

The estimated duration of the work is approximately one month.
—The schedule depends on the frost and how well we can dig, the responsible foreman Jukka Malinen Imatra's real estate and regional service Kipa says.

In other respects, regional renovation will continue in Meltola at the beginning of May. 

This year, Hevossuontie, Kärrikuja, Aisakuja, Pajakatu and Rainionkuja will be renovated. Information on the start and progress of the work will be announced during the spring. 
The City of Imatra is responsible for planning the renovation and construction of streets, permitting issues, soil surveys, terrain measurements, and client tasks during construction. 

Mitra Imatra's Construction Company will tender for the renovation contracts and is responsible for supervision and construction tasks during the contracts. The contract will be implemented by Imatra's real estate and regional service Kipa.
