Parliament approved laws on amending the Water Supply Act and the Land Use and Construction Act on June 3.6.2014, 1.9.2014. The laws entered into force on September 2016, XNUMX. However, the Water Supply Act also applies in a built-up area to the drainage of stormwater that accumulates on the surface of the ground, on the roof of a building or on another surface, to the extent that the water supply facility takes care of it. According to the Land Use and Construction Act, the municipality has overall responsibility for stormwater management, and the municipality decides which entity in the municipality handles each task according to the Land Use and Construction Act. At the end of XNUMX, assets related to stormwater drains were transferred from Imatra Vede's balance sheet to the city's balance sheet.
