Imatra's master plan proposal to be reopened
Based on the statements, objections, public meetings and new reports previously received regarding the draft master plan, a new revised master plan has been prepared.
The Economic and Urban Environment Committee (formerly the Urban Development Committee) will discuss the revised master plan proposal at its next meeting on Tuesday, January 28.1. If the committee approves the proposal, it will be made publicly available on the city's website for 30 days.
The most important changes made to the master plan proposal compared to the previous one
Changes have occurred in various parts of Imatra, including the intended use of some areas.
— For example, the A2 area of the Ukonniemi ridge area has been reduced in the master plan proposal so that it only covers the current construction sites. Otherwise, the ridge in question is an area for sports and recreational services, says the city's planning architect. Sami Tynkkynen.
The revised master plan proposal designates the Itä-Siitola forest as an S-1 protected area among the valuable natural areas. The valuable Vuoksenniska ridge area has also been added to the proposal.
In the Pelkola area, the area of residential areas intended for urban planning has been reduced, as the areas are located in the immediate vicinity of the areas planned as industrial areas in Pelkola, and there is no pressure for new residential construction in this area.
