The City of Imatra's budget for 2026 is being finalized

Next year's budget has allocated 3,0 million euros for street and area renovations. Area renovations will be carried out in Meltola and Sotkulampi. In addition, street areas will be renovated, including Linnansuontie and Linnalankuja.

One major investment target is the Vuoksenniska field, the renovation of which will be completed next year. 0,5 million euros have been allocated for the work.

Imatra Water has budgeted 0,67 million euros for improvements to the sewer network. In addition, the water company will invest 0,4 million euros in the installation of remotely readable water meters.

"In the coming years, the city's debt burden will begin to become apparent and we will have to prepare for rising financing costs," Pollari says.

The Education and Welfare Board decided in September not to renew the Concert Hall's assistance agreement for 2026. As a result of the government's decision, the matter will be reviewed again.
