Animal protection

According to the Animal Welfare Act, the animal must be treated well and it must not be caused unnecessary suffering. Causing unnecessary pain and suffering is prohibited. In addition, animal husbandry must promote the maintenance of animal health and take into account the animals' physiological and behavioral needs.

The municipality's animal welfare control authorities are the official veterinarians, the police and the officials in charge of the municipality's health protection control.
