The environmental department of the Imatra region, which includes Imatra, Parikkala, Rautjärvi and Ruokolahti, monitors food safety, good health quality and the implementation of food regulations in its area. Food control is based on a control plan, which is based on the national control program. The control extends to the entire food chain, the so-called from field to table including e.g. supervision of primary production, manufacture, transport, storage, export, import, sale and serving of foodstuffs. The control plan can be found in the attached files at the bottom of the page.
In addition to planned inspections, the supervision has provisions for e.g. for the processing, planning and reporting of new food service apartment notifications and permits, acute supervision, handling of complaints, various supervision projects, expert tasks and advice and guidance. In addition, the Food Safety Authority participates in the investigation of food- and water-borne epidemics.
As a rule, inspections by the Food Safety Authority are carried out unannounced and according to the Oiva assessment instructions. Inspections will be published Oiva reports.
You can find more information and instructions regarding Oiva inspections From the Oivahymy website.
