Library card and user responsibility
The right to use the library is granted to everyone who follows these rules of use.
In order to get a library card and an ID number, the customer must prove his identity and agree to follow the country's usage rules with his signature. Written consent of the guardian is required for children under 15 years of age. The person responsible for the card is responsible for the material borrowed with the community card.
The library card is personal, and the customer is responsible for all material borrowed with the card. Individuality also applies to self-directed use of the library. The guardian is responsible for the material borrowed with the library card of a child under 15 years of age and for the use of the library's other services, equipment, facilities and self-service libraries.
The library card must always be presented when borrowing and, if necessary, also when using library services.
The loss of the card and a change of address or name must be reported to the library immediately. The customer is responsible for the materials borrowed with the card and the accumulated fees before the loss of the Library Card is reported.
The library user is obliged to handle library material and other property carefully so that it is not damaged. The library is not responsible for any damage caused to the customer by borrowed material or used equipment.
Borrowing
The materials have different loan periods. Due dates are shown on the loan receipt. The loan can be renewed if there are no reservations about the material or the maximum number of renewals is not exceeded. The loan can be renewed at the library's customer service desk, online library, by phone or email.
Borrowing of films, games and TV programs is limited according to the age limits set by the Picture Program Act.
Customers can make reservations and purchase proposals for the material. Material that is not in the library is forwarded as an interlibrary loan from other libraries. The remote service complies with national guidelines, the terms and conditions of the library that issued the loan, and the fees determined by it.
Restoration
Loans must be returned or renewed no later than the loan's due date. If you wish, you can get a receipt for the return. The loan period ends at the end of the service or self-service time and at the end of the day in the online library.
Some libraries have a return hatch. Materials returned via Luukku are registered as returned on the next business day. Returning to the return hatch is the responsibility of the customer.
Fees
The use, borrowing and reservation of the library's own materials, as well as the guidance, advice and information service provided to the library's users, is free of charge. The library charges e.g. for material returned late, failure to pick up reserved material, delivery of late notices and invoices, damaged material and printouts. The current fees are listed in a separate appendix.
The library is not responsible for the delivery of due date reminders or late notices. The due date is binding. A late fee is also charged in the event that the renewal of loans in the online library has not been successful.
Lost or damaged material must be replaced with a new, similar copy or by paying the price determined by the library. Due to copyright fees, DVDs, Blu-Rays and CD-roms cannot be replaced with a new song.
The library has the right to collect its claims through the courts. The customer reimburses the costs incurred for the collection of payments.
Loss of right to borrow
The customer loses the right to borrow if unreturned loans have been invoiced or unpaid payments exceed the limit defined in the payment appendix. The lending ban is valid until the customer has made the payments.
Loss of right of use
The loss of the right of use means a temporary prohibition to use the library in those cases when the customer repeatedly and substantially causes disruption to the library's operations, endangers its safety or damages the library's property. The ban can be a maximum of 30 days. At Imatra, the service manager of the culture and learning center determines the right to use ban. When imposing a ban on use, the parties will be given an opportunity to be heard. An official decision is made on the ban on use, to which the customer can demand correction in accordance with the municipal law.
Customer data protection
The library's borrower register complies with the Personal Data Act. The library has the right to record the personal identification number of the borrower in the register (Personal Information Act 523/1999, § 13). The information in the register is not disclosed to third parties. The Register and Privacy Statement can be viewed in the library and on the website.
