A solar power plant will be installed on the roof of Kulttuuritalo Virta in September

The power plant reduces the city's carbon dioxide emissions and improves the property's energy efficiency.

A 150,32 kWp solar power plant with an annual output of approximately 120 kWh will be installed on the roof of the library part of Kulttuuritalo Virra. This amount is enough to cover the annual electricity consumption of more than 30 oil-heated houses.
Various properties of the city's real estate companies have been examined more widely in order to find potential locations for power plants. The challenges caused by the load-bearing capacity of the roofs have often been an obstacle to the construction of power plants.

Kulttuuritalo Virta was selected as an investment site because of its location and consumption profile.
— Electricity is consumed steadily in the stream, even in summer, and the energy produced can be used in the property. Virtra's roof is also suitable for building a power plant in terms of load-bearing capacity, says the property manager Heikki Varis Mitra from the Builder of Imatra.
— During last winter, power suppliers were tendered and 1KOMMA5° won the tender. The bidding was done together with the city's procurement unit, he continues.

The agreement includes maintenance and performance monitoring of the solar power plant by 1KOMMA5° Finland for ten years. After the installation is completed, visitors to Kulttuuritalo Virtra can monitor the energy production with the help of a monitor installed at the entrance of the building.

Monday 2.9. Parts of the power plant are being lifted onto the roof of Kulttuuritalo Virtra.

The small parking lot of the garage ramp is closed during lifts. The installation work takes approximately five to six weeks.
— Electricity production starts as soon as the power plant is installed and the work is received, says Varis.

In its operations, the city of Imatra wants to consider its impact on greenhouse gas emissions and climate change and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions it causes.

"Often an obstacle for power plants...

"The challenges caused by the load-bearing capacity of the roofs have often been an obstacle to the construction of power plants." And is the load-bearing capacity of the Kulttuuritalo roof sufficient? Now make sense. The roof is already in such bad condition that it should be repaired and strengthened before the heavy panels are installed... The roof is leaking water from so many places that the building will probably end up in demolition condition within a couple of years, and proper repairs have still not been done. There are buckets in the library from time to time, note BUCKETS in the plural, collecting water when it comes through the ceiling. Careless operation endangers the staff and customers, and still grinds outright nonsense about the profitability of the roof and the usefulness of this future power plant. Mitra, do us Imatra residents a favor and file for bankruptcy if you have no other hobbies than your general fooling around. You are not making Imatra a good city, you are specifically ruining this beautiful and idyllic city. Your reputation is already ruined, and not even this solar power plant will save it. Now really check the facts about the condition of the roof and the entire property... It's embarrassing for you to publish these words, even though Takuu knows the situation. You have also been told about it, but you have not cared.
