UPDATED: A pipe break cut off the water in the Haraka area, the water supply will be restored in ten countries in the evening

Release
25.12.2022 13:53
It was a big pipe break.

Opposite the Imatra fire station, a big pipe break was noticed today after one o'clock on Christmas day in Imatra.

Because of this, the water had to be cut off from Haraka's stone houses, i.e. Mitra's rental houses. A separate water distribution point was arranged for these properties. The repair was completed on Christmas Day before ten in the evening, and the water supply will be restored in ten countries to all the households from which it had to be cut off. If the water is initially cloudy or contains air bubbles, it is worth running it from the tap to the drain for a while.

There were also pressure problems in the Vuoksenniska area, Niskalammi and Mustalammi, but they were already fixed in the afternoon.

The place of the pipe break was along Vuoksenniskantie, in a wooded area opposite the fire station. From the point of leakage, the water rose to the surface of the earth in a statue.

The leak was reasonably large, as its effect was also visible as a drop in the water level of the water tower.

Bulletin updated:

At 15:17, added the estimated repair schedule and removed the information that Vuoksenniska would still have pressure problems.

At 21:53, added information about the completion of repairs and the return of water supply to normal.

The leak was reasonably large, because the water level in the water tower also started to drop due to its effect.
