110 new students were selected for Imatra's high school
According to the joint selection proposal for spring 2022, 110 new students will be admitted to Imatra's joint high school. There are 120 starting places.
There were a total of 108 primary applicants, of which 104 will be selected. In addition to them, there are six students who will be selected in the 2nd or 3rd place of the joint application.
The lowest accepted average is 7,00, which is slightly lower than in fall 2021.
- There are slightly fewer starting students than a year ago, and at this stage there are still 10 starting places available. A minimum average of 7,00 is a condition for choosing a high school. The study place must be accepted by June 27.6 at the latest. and if not everyone accepts a place, then more may become available. Vacancies can be inquired directly from the principal or deputy principal until the end of June and from the beginning of August. The number of starting students corresponds to the forecast and we are satisfied with that, says the principal of the high school Mika Strömberg.
34 starting students are selected for the IB high school of South Karelia, which operates in Imatra and Lappeenranta, after a joint selection presentation and a discretionary selection. The amount is fairly evenly distributed between Imatra and Lappeenranta.
Students applying to the Imatra unit of the Finnish-Russian high school in Eastern Finland also study in the basic groups of the Imatra joint high school.
From the spring of 2021, every ninth grader has the obligation to apply for a study place for the first time due to the new compulsory education law. The expansion of compulsory education for the second degree, free of charge and the new upper secondary school curriculum entered into force at the beginning of August 2021.
Due to data protection, we do not publish the names of the chosen ones on the school's website, on the front door or in newspapers. Those selected will receive information by email from Opintopolku service and by letter from the school.
